Metal Beam Crash Barrier

We at Prakash Asphaltings & Toll Highways (India) limited (PATH), manufacture and supply a complete range of products in metal beam crash barriers i.e., W-Beam, Thrie- Beam, Modified Thrie Beams, Posts, and Spacers etc. in accordance with MORTH Clause 811.3 & IRC: SP: 84, IRC: SP:87, IRC: SP: 99 & IRC: 119. We have state of the art in-house roll forming machines and hot dip galvanizing plant. Our current production capacity is more than 2,000 M.T. per Month.

VIEW CRASH BARRIER PROJECTS

As per the circular issued by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (Ref: RW/NH-29023/02/2019-S&R, P&B) dated 01.01.2020. – (B) Guidelines for Metal crash barrier (Semi Rigid) to be installed on National Highways –
“The crash barriers (Semi rigid) should be crash tested 'Road restraint system' and should meet the requirements of EN 1317 Part-2: Performance classes, impact test acceptance criteria and test methods for safety barriers and vehicle parapets and/or to the requirement of the American Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH).”

In order to comply with the above norms Laid by MoRTH, we have successfully crash tested our crash barriers, details of which are as follows –

  • Modified Thrie Beam Crash Barrier- We are the pioneers in India who initiated the crash testing with INDIA’s first ever crash test executed for our Modified Thrie-Beam Crash Barrier System in accordance with European standard EN 1317 Part-2, on October 30, 2018. This initiative predates the mandatory requirement for crash testing.
  • W-Beam Crash Barrier- Crash test of W-Beam (our own design) successfully in accordance with EN 1317 Part-2 for High Containment Zone H1 category with a working width of W3.
  • Thrie Beam Crash Barrier- Crash Test of Thrie Beam (our own design) successfully in accordance with EN 1317 Part-2 for High Containment Zone H2 category, crash tested at an Internationally Accredited Laboratory.

We have supplied more than 500+ Km of our W-Beam and Thrie Beam Barriers on various national highways, including the prestigious Bharatmala Pariyojana Packages, and 130+ Km of our Modified Thrie Beam Crash Barriers on hilly terrains in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Uttarakhand.

NHAI Approved

“We are enlisted in Office Memorandum No. NHAI/TIC/PQ/2012-13/394 dated October 12, 2023, of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) as an approved manufacturer of metal beam crash barriers, and vide this memorandum, repeated source approval for our crash barriers is not required for different NHAI projects.”

We are the first company to execute the supply and installation of 100 km of double-beam crash barriers under the West Central Railway in record time of SIX Months. More than 2,000 km of work has been allotted by the Indian Railways to facilitate the seamless operation of high-speed trains under various divisions. However, owing to the typical nature and complexity of the job, nobody has been able to complete it within the designated time frame. We at PATH are proud to have finished the difficult assignment in a record-breaking six months.
